The £20 banknote carrying the portrait of composer Sir Edward Elgar is to be finally withdrawn from circulation from 30th June 2010. The Bank of England have said that for several months from the end of June banks, building societies and Post Offices will accept Elgar notes for deposit to customers accounts and other customer transactions. The Bank of England will always give value for these notes
Details of the current software revisions to inhibit this note are in section 4 below

The Danish Bank has started to introduce a new series of notes:
50 - August 2009 100 - May 2010 200 - October 2010 500 - February 2011 1000 - May 2011
Software for both the new 50 & 100 banknotes is now available and the latest revisions are detailed in section 4 below

Northern Irish Bank recently completed a reprint of their £10 note at which time they took the opportunity to update the logo, signature, date etc so tests are being carried out to identify if these changes are likely to affect the acceptance rates and news will follow in TB103
